Panels, master classes, tastings and pitches – a day full of inspiration and excitement!

The Food Startup Campus 2024 , which took place on September 27th together with the FSIWS at the Weihenstephan University of Applied Sciences in Freising , was a complete success and offered a day full of innovation, networking and valuable insights into the food startup scene. Organized by StartinFOOD with Christine Purnell and Walther Bruckschen , the event offered a platform for founders, investors and food enthusiasts to exchange ideas about the latest developments in the industry.

The event offered a successful mix of exciting panels, inspiring master classes and a top-class pitch competition. Selda Morina , innovation manager at REWE Süd, who was herself a participant in the jury, praised the event as an all-round success in her LinkedIn post: “It wasn't just a setting for food enthusiasts where you can taste new and delicious products, it was also deep talks on innovative topics that are of great relevance to the entire start-up economy.”

 

A highlight of the day was the Food Next Gen Pitch , where nine startups presented their innovative ideas. The Munich startup Kooray spice 'n easy impressed the jury with its curry spice mixtures and won four prizes, including a free stand at the Food &Life trade fair , a financing check from Stadtsparkasse München, the audience award and a market launch campaign from utry.me.

Ahmed El Gafarawi from Foodasis secured a test listing with REWE Süd .

Other winners included REcharge with Juma , which won a brand positioning consulting package from SevenVentures and Seven.One Ad.Factory , and Ve:Love food , which received Straub-Verpackungen GmbH

   
The diversity of ideas presented at the Food Startup Campus – from fermented products to plant-based alternatives – underscored the potential of the food startup scene.

In addition to the pitches, the event also offered valuable master classes and panels on topics such as sales, online marketing and financing. The participants were able to gain in-depth knowledge from industry experts such as Selda Morina , Lynn Bornholdt , Nikola Nikolic, Leon Niederl and Alexander Grimm and Anne-Cathrine Hutz .

 

The day was rounded off with exciting panels. Among other things, Jessica Karch from Planet A Foods the successful launch of the cocoa alternative ChoViva . Timo Hildebrand , former professional footballer, Matthias Coufal and Simon Tress discussed the advantages of plant-based nutrition and regionality.

The Food Startup Campus 2024 was an event full of inspiration and already aroused anticipation for Campus 2025.
