In this interview series, HSWT presents startups affiliated with the university. The series introduces the companies, their product ideas, and their working methods.

Kerstin Burgen comes from the IT and product development world and has also worked as a hospital manager – a combination that gave her both technical understanding and deep insights into health processes and people's needs. She now applies this expertise in the field of natural nutritional supplements.

What's the idea behind your startup?

FeelGoodBears & Friends represents a new generation of natural nutritional supplements: fruit-based, honest, and consistently free of artificial additives. Our products combine enjoyment, health, and science in a modern, practical way. What began as a vision to make healthy nutrition more accessible has evolved into an innovative wellbeing brand. Consumers are supported in naturally enhancing their beauty and resilience.

What distinguishes your products from others in this field?

With FeelGoodBears & Friends, I've built a range of high-quality products based on natural ingredients, without artificial sweeteners or sugar alcohols, and enriched with high-quality vitamins and minerals. Our products contain up to 96.5% real fruit, we use pectin instead of gelatin, and almost all of our Fruit Bears & Bites are vegan.

Do you already have future plans for further product ideas?

I am currently working on a new product line, developing its formulas, which combines modern nutritional approaches with innovative raw material alternatives. My long-term goal is to build a natural, scientifically supported wellness brand that offers real benefits in everyday life.

What is your experience with the FSIWS?

As a startup in the Weihenstephan Food Startup Incubator, we benefit from the close connection to HSWT and its professional expertise. Access to modern laboratories and technical equipment, which significantly supports our product development, is particularly valuable.

What experience or tips would you like to share with other startups?

Start small, but be consistent. Many ideas fail not because of a lack of potential, but because people wait too long or want too much at once.
