In this interview series, the HSWT startups presents that are connected to the university. The series presents companies, their product ideas and working methods.
Maximilian Brenner, founder of SaltFuels , wants to revolutionize sports nutrition with his products – with a focus on electrolyte balance of natural origin.
What does SaltFuels stand for and for which target group do you produce?
SaltFuels stands for salty sports nutrition without additives, featuring electrolytes from real foods – completely free of sweeteners, flavors, or artificial additives. Perfect for anyone who sweats a lot during exercise and wants to replenish their lost electrolytes naturally.
How would you describe your career so far and what are your future plans?
After completing my business studies, I initially worked at a startup that operates a marketplace for sports bikes. It was here that I discovered the joy of endurance sports. Now I'm venturing into self-employment with SaltFuels. Thanks to the flexible production facilities at HSWT, I'd like to start Pure Carb, a syrup with a very high carbohydrate content, in addition to the bars. When mixed with water, it provides energy even during intense workouts.
What is your experience with the FSIWS?
The FSIWS makes it easy to produce food legally and try out new recipes. I really appreciate the great network and the open collaboration with external startups – I'm truly grateful for that!
What experience or tips would you like to share with other startups?
Just get started. One of the biggest mistakes, in my opinion, is waiting until something is perfect. The market, i.e. the customers, will tell you what works and what doesn't.
