HSWT opens Creativity and Innovation Lab – SUN strengthens entrepreneurial culture
With the grand opening of the Creativity and Innovation Lab on February 20, 2025, Weihenstephan-Triesdorf University of (HSWT) is setting new standards in research, innovation, and start-up support. The modern modular building was officially inaugurated in the presence of Science Minister Markus Blume .
Our particular focus is on the Startup, Entrepreneurship, and Succession Center (SUN) , which serves as the central point of contact for those interested in starting a business at HSWT. Under the leadership of Dr. Veronika Hannus , who previously worked at FSIWS , SUN supports students and researchers in developing and implementing innovative business ideas. SUN also forms an important link between Impact³ in Triesdorf and FSIWS in Freising , thereby further improving the networking of startup support at HSWT

“It is crucial that innovative ideas not only emerge but can also be successfully implemented. With SUN, we offer founders precisely the support they need for their success,” emphasized Dr. Hannus at the opening.
In addition to consulting services, SUN offers a strong network, assists with finding financing, and creates a creative working environment for aspiring entrepreneurs. Through its integration into the Creativity and Innovation Lab, founders benefit from state-of-the-art infrastructure and interdisciplinary collaboration.
