On April 14 and 15, 2023, 13 students developed innovations along the food value chain.

For the first time, the event was held at the Food Startup Incubator. Two teams won cash prizes with their ideas.

The participants received an introduction to current methods and their direct application from idea generation to the creation of a Lean Canvas. This gave them the opportunity to gain insights into the startup world in an interdisciplinary team.

Individual coaching & input through workshops

During the workshop, the students received individual coaching to discuss the status of the project and to clarify any questions.

In addition, two workshops were offered. On Friday, topics such as "Idea Generation. Prioritizing ideas, presenting ideas, job finder, further development of ideas and Lean Canvas" were covered by our partners StartinFood.

After a day full of content, we dined together over pizza and drinks, exchanged new knowledge and further deepened ideas.

Saturday started with sports activities to warm up, followed by lectures by Julia Zipf from the Strascheg Center for Entrepreneurship at HM. These dealt with topics such as "how to pitch properly, working on the pitch and presenting the pitches". This was followed by the award ceremony.

Pitches

The jury awarded the first place to team A5. Within the two days workshop, they structured their idea to develop an app that digitizes your food supply, creating awareness about food waste, cost & emission. With this, they earned a prize of 100€.

Second place went to UmamiMe. Umami refers to the fifth sense of taste. It comes from the Japanese and means tasty and essence. Luisa and Sebastian want to develop a concentrated natural flavor for their customers' favorite foods. The advantages include long shelf life, easy storage. They won a prize of 60€.

Team A5 would like to develop their idea further.

We wish all participants all the best and continued success!
