Weihenstephan - Three members of the presidium of the Bavarian Farmers' Association (BBV) learned about the most important developments and future plans of the university in the fields of agriculture, bioenergy, food and beverages during a half-day appointment at the Food Startup Incubator (FSIWS) of the Weihenstephan University of Applied Sciences Triesdorf (HSWT) last Friday. Farmers' President Walter Heidl, BBV Secretary General Georg Wimmer and Gunther Strobl, Director of the Bavarian Farmers' Association Education Center, accepted HSWT's invitation and visited the university for a joint exchange as well as a tour of the FSIWS' pilot plant facilities....

HSWT President Eric Veulliet outlined the challenges for science and education during the last years marked by the Corona pandemic. As one of the universities with the most students in the agricultural and food sector in Germany, HSWT is continuously working on its own advancement as well. Veulliet gave the guests an insight into numerous new research initiatives, on internationalization and continuing education, as well as planned projects of the university. The representatives of the BBV emphasized the importance of the HSWT for practice-oriented research and teaching in the agricultural sector.
